What was announced

The campaign's post dated April 18, 2018 announced a statewide bus tour. Bus tours were a familiar tactic in the race; Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle announced a second bus tour of his own that April (Athens CEO).

What local outlets reported

  • Ellijay. FetchYourNews reported that Hill arrived by bus for a breakfast meet-and-greet at a local restaurant on May 2 while continuing his tour across Georgia, with a final stop that day at the Cobb GOP headquarters in Marietta. He spoke about replacing the state income tax with a broad consumption tax, cutting off state funding to "sanctuary" jurisdictions and pursuing a religious-freedom bill in his first year.
  • Columbus. WTVM covered a May 4 street visit "on his statewide bus tour." Hill named public safety, transportation and education as his main themes and repeated his call to end the income tax.

How it turned out

Hill finished third in the May 22 primary with 18.3 percent. His positions from the tour are collected on the positions page.
